MEXT Certified Educational Program for Promoting Employment of International Students

Overview

This program is designed for international students who wish to build careers in Japan. It provides courses and seminars in Japanese and English across three categories: Japanese language education, career education, and internships. Participants can choose activities that match their Japanese language level and career goals. By earning the required program points, participants will receive a certificate of completion and a digital open badge from The University of Osaka. These credentials will help participants showcase skills and achievements to prospective employers and strengthen career opportunities in Japan.

Scholoarship eligibility

Regular international students of The University of Osaka who fall under one of the following categories.

・Undergraduate students: Second or third year

・Master’s students: First year

・Doctoral students: First or second year (For four-year doctoral programs (e.g., the Graduate School of Medicine), students in their second and third doctoral years (D2 and D3) are eligible to apply).

* Regular international students who are not eligible for the scholarship are still allowed to enroll in this program.
Upon earning the required points, they will receive a certificate of completion and an open badge, which can be utilized in job searches and immigration (residence status) procedures.

Enrollment Capacity

30 students

Completion Requirements

This program adopts a point-based system. Participants must earn at least 3 points each in Japanese Language Education and Career Education, and at least 2 points in the Internship component.

Completion of the program will be certified when a total of 8 points or more has been obtained.

Program Duration

Max 2 years

Participants are expected to complete the program approximately six months before their anticipated graduation or degree completion date.

Attendance at one of the information sessions is mandatory for applicants intending to apply for a scholarship.
